Where It All Started

Like most good love stories, theirs started long before they realised it would become forever. Caitlin and Kian first met in high school, Caitlin was in Grade 9 and Kian in Grade 10, at a party surrounded by mutual friends.

Although they met young, theirs wasn’t a typical high school romance. Life took them in different directions for a while, but somehow they always found their way back to each other. A few years later, when Kian had just finished school and Caitlin was in matric, they reconnected, and this time, everything changed. What began as a rekindled friendship quickly turned into something much deeper, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Over the past five years, they’ve built a relationship grounded in love, laughter, loyalty, and adventure. Caitlin’s graceful, detail-loving nature perfectly complements Kian’s laid-back, rugged personality, balancing each other in the best possible way and proving that opposites really do attract.

In 2022, their little family grew when Eilidh and Olvar entered their lives. Their two dogs quickly became the centre of their world.

On Christmas Eve in 2025, Kian proposed to Caitlin at the lookout point at Oubaai, the very same place where he had once asked her to be his girlfriend. It was a full-circle moment in one of the places that holds some of their most special memories.

Now, surrounded by the people they love most, they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their story together.
